CAMRA and Covid 19

ALL CAMRA EVENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED (INCLUDING THE GREAT BRITISH BEER FESTIVAL)

Camra is looking into ways in which we can continue to support pubs and clubs during the
Covid-19 closure period. One of these ways is an addition to ‘What Pub’.

Go to whatpub.com and tick the box ‘only show pubs offering takeaways or other additional services’ and enter your town name in the search box.

This may give you a listing of those pubs taking part in the initiative, although at this stage
we are not yet aware of any pubs in our branch area taking part.

If you are aware of any pubs in our branch area offering this facility can you please
email Graham Privett with the details He will make the necessary changes on What Pub

Graham’s email address is :

pooc.poocenohp@ttevirp.maharg

Above all do not take any unnecessary risks and continue to follow government guidelines.

Stay safe !!

Cheers

Ben

Pulling Together

Pubs, breweries and taprooms are fighting for their very survival against the Coronavirus. Many are finding different and innovative ways to help their business weather the crisis. Whether this is by launching hot food deliveries, encouraging locals to buy ‘gift cards’ for the summer or crowdfunding, there are plenty of ways that you can help support your favourite local business.

CAMRA is working with SIBA to let you know about pubs, bars, taprooms and breweries where you can still get beer and cider during the crisis. Click the link below to find out more.

Bolton CAMRA Social to support the flood affected pubs in Hebden Bridge – Possible date: Saturday 2nd May 2020

After hearing of the floods in Hebden Bridge caused by Storm Ciara earlier this year it was decided that we would run a branch social to the town to show our support. Obviously, we can’t do this until the pubs are open again.

I have been in touch with the Chair of Halifax and Calderdale branch and as of the end of February some of the pubs were ready to open but many were not.

We have pencilled in Saturday 2 May for our trip. I will be in touch with the Branch chair about individual pubs and hopefully by the beginning of May the pubs will be open again.

It would be good if several branch members could join us and we can meet up with some members of Halifax and Calderdale branch.

Travel times and pubs to visit will be on the website once I have more information

Bolton CAMRA – Social to Rivington Brewing Company – Saturday 28th March 2020

We shall meet at the Crown Hotel in Horwich at 12.00 for a beer before our walk to Rivington Brewery, Home Farm, Horrobin Lane, Anderton, PR6 9HE.

Food is available if you would like to eat here before we set off for the walk to the brewery.

For those who don’t want to walk we can arrange a taxi/mini bus from the Crown to the brewery and share the cost. We would expect to leave the Crown around 1.00pm. It would be useful if we knew how many people would like to share a taxi.

Please contact Gill on social@bolton.camra.org.uk or on 07967 585670 to let me know or if you have any other queries
